Tool worked on all sides. Symmetrical, elongated, oval shape. Flat, lanceolate cross-section. Straight longitudinal axis. Both surfaces roughly hewn with cortex remains in the centre. More finely hewn along the edges on both sides. So-called “core axe”. Due to its large dimensions it was probably not used as a tool, but rather as prestige good. Grey-beige stone (silex) with light spots and dots and extensive brown discolourations. Flint from the region of Le Grand Pressigny (Dép. Indre-et-Loire, France). Intact, minimal black-brown impurities on the surface and on the edges. Cortex in part recently removed for inscription. Inscription on label: 00029-23.
